Resume of Career

Dr. Kevin Hung received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, Canada; and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is currently a lecturer at the School of Science and Technology, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), teaching and coordinating courses in signal processing and multimedia, mechatronics, microprocessor, systems engineering, and engineering management.

Before joining OUHK, Dr. Hung had been the assistant project manager at the Joint Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering, CUHK, where he coordinated several government and industry-funded projects; engineer at a medical device company, where he performed R&D and market research on respiratory products; and lecturer at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, teaching subjects in industrial design and electronic engineering. Dr. Hung received the Transaction in Information Technology in Biomedicine Outstanding Paper Award in 2007 for the most citations in the previous five years. He is a founding officer of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Hong Kong Chapter, where he has served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairman. Dr. Hung is currently a Committee Member of the Electronics & Communications Section, IET HK.  He enjoys youth work, serving the community, playing the flute on Sundays, and playing hide-and-seek with his daughters.
